But also the only one of its kind in the South-East region of Europe, launches its third edition and starts the registrations. The event will take place in Brașov, Coresi district, from 9 to 10 September 2023. It will include races dedicated to amateurs, but also two certified races dedicated to athletes - the professional TRUNsylvania International 10K and the European Road Mile.

“Brasov Running Festival is approaching another edition and we are proud that already this event is becoming a tradition not only for the central area of the country, but also nationally and even for athletes and running enthusiasts from abroad. As in previous years, the star of the competition will be the TRUNSYLVANIA International 10K race, women's and men's, where, this time, athletes from the world's Top 20 will line up at the start,” said Daniel Santa, director of the competition.

According to his statements, Brașov Running Festival has become, from the first edition, a relevant event on the world map of athletics. Certification Elite Label, awarded by World Athletics (International Athletics Federation) confirms the top level of organization, the competition in Brasov being next to only 20 other such sporting events at European level. Also, the event has already put Brasov on the international map of athletics for the first time, being Member of AIMS — The Association of International Marathons and Distance Races.

“The route chosen for the TrunSYLVANIA International 10K professional race turned out to be one of the fastest in the world, placing Brașov Running Festival ranked 10th among the best performing road running races in the world in 2022, surpassing famous races such as those in New York, Boston, Madrid, Rome, Istanbul or Paris. This makes the event extremely desirable by the world's great athletes who want to break new records,” said Daniel Santa.

In addition, in the previous edition, 3 of the 10 fastest 10 KM results of all time were achieved in the Brașov race, and the world record in the women's 10 KM time trial was missed for only 6 seconds.

This year's event will also include a race dedicated specifically to European professional athletes, on a 1-mile route - the European Road Mile. As in previous editions, the prizes offered to professional runners in the two dedicated races will total more than $50,000.

As for the amateur competitions, they will be dedicated to both adults and juniors (restricted pers. born after Jan. 1, 2007) and children (restricted pers. born after Jan. 1, 2007). 2010/2012). Thus, on the first day of the competition there will be competitions for juniors and children, 3,000 M, 1,200 M and 800 M, as well as a race dedicated exclusively to women (Women's Heels Race). On the second day of the event there will be amateur races of 5 and 10 KM, but also the one dedicated to people in wheelchairs.

“Brasov Running Festival is more than a sports competition. It is the place that brings together top athletes who fight to break records, but also the place where children, young people and amateur adults have the chance to run in a framework organized according to the highest world standards. Moreover, Brasov Running Festival is an opportunity to bring almost thousands of spectators who can take part in unique concerts and activities”,pointed out Daniel Santa. This year, Brașov Running Festival aims to bring together over 30,000 spectators from all over the country but also abroad, and the competition will be able to be watched live around the world.
